There is a landmark in Britain that is much less famous than Big Ben and Buckingham Palace. This is an extensive system of canals that were built hundreds of years ago and connect major cities and industrial centers. In the past, these channels were used to transport cargo on narrowboats. The boats were about 20 meters long and only 2 meters wide, which allowed them to pass numerous locks on the way.
Today, neither boats nor canals are used for industrial purposes anymore. Now, instead of factories, they unite people of different professions and occupations with one thing in common: they all once came up with the idea to change an apartment in a high-rise building to a boat that is always roaming the british canals.
